How to choose a marble mandir or marble temple for your home
A home mandir is used every day, so the first thing to decide is size. Measure the width, height and depth of the wall or alcove, and leave room to stand or sit comfortably for aarti. A mandir that is slightly smaller than the space usually looks more graceful than one that fills it edge to edge.
Next, choose the character. Carved mandirs rely on jaali lattice, pillars and arches in pure white marble. Inlaid mandirs add colour with stones set into the marble, such as peacocks, lotuses or a tree of life. Many families also want drawers or cabinets in the base to keep diyas, books and pooja items close at hand.
White marble is chosen for mandirs because it stays cool, reflects lamp light softly and keeps its finish for years. Many families also follow Vastu guidance and prefer the north-east of the home for the pooja space. We can design the mandir around the placement you choose.
Our mandirs are carved in Makrana from white Makrana marble. Send a photo of the wall with its width and height, plus the code of the design you like, and we will send a drawing with the size.
